The humble chamomile is known around the world for its varied beneficial characteristics: it has important antiseptic properties, relieves stomach ailments, soothes cold symptoms, and calms both the body and mind for restful sleep. Its name is derived from the Greek word meaning “earth apple” because of the characteristic apple aroma that it exudes when it blooms in the spring – thanks to this unique scent, we can often tell that chamomile is around before we even see it.
Our chamomile comes from the plains of Thessaly, in the estuary of the Pineios River. It is cultivated according to the most advanced biological practices and with respect for the environment. The local soil offers perfect growing conditions. We farm it with care, and it repays us with chamomile of excellent quality, with all the exceptional properties that make it so unique.
Chamomile is a traditionally relaxing beverage for any hour of the day. Fresh orange peels and mint leaves enhance its soothing properties and create a unique flavor experience.
Ingredients for 1 glass
1 Greek Organic Chamomile pyramid, fresh orange peels, 1 fresh mint leaf
In half a cup of hot water dip the Greek Organic Chamomile pyramid. Steep for 10 minutes, preferably with the cup covered. Then, remove the pyramid and add cold water. Serve in a glass over ice, with the fresh mint leaf and the orange peels.
If you wish, add a natural sweetener such as honey, stevia, or orange peels. You can also mix chamomile with a pyramid of lemon balm, for a relaxing night-time beverage.
